Camera Movements and Emotion:
Crane Up: Moves viewer into the story or the scene. Makes viewer feel as if he or she is falling into the action.
Crane Down: Show how small the character is or how large the obstacle is that the character has to overcome.
Crane High to Low: Makes character look strong and opposing, and creates a lot of fear; gives a feeling of authority.
Handheld Camera: Creates a feeling of uneasiness or danger.
Quick Pan: Can change emotional direction of scene almost at once. It reveals something dangerous or something that the character has to overcome.
Quick Push In: Creates a feeling of surprise or shock.
Slow Dolly In: Creates tension, and helps viewer become more intimate with the character in a way that makes the view feel uncomfortable for them, or to show their emotion.
Slow Dolly Out: Makes character look emotionally lost or abandoned. Creates an emotion of empathy, and the viewer feels lost with the characters.
Dolly Cross: Changes emotional direction of scene.
Smooth Glide-cam Shot: Creates emotion that is dreamlike.
Glide-Cam 360 Reveal: Creates a "calm before the storm" feeling.
Zolly: Creates an overwhelming emotional feeling.
